ANTARES AGL & Industrial Control

Home / Brand identity

A runway seen from the threshold, and the star it is named after.

The ANTARES logo carries two readings at once: the letter A, and a runway in perspective whose centreline lights recede towards the horizon. The star at the apex is Antares, the brightest in Scorpius — a fixed reference point long before it was a brand.

The mark

Construction

Two receding uprights converge on a single vanishing point. Three cross bars of decreasing width play the part of the lights as they move away. The amber gradient reproduces the exact hue of runway edge lights.

Palette

Aerodrome night, airfield amber

The palette is that of an operations room at night: deep backgrounds, text at controlled contrast, and a single warm accent borrowed from runway lights. The status colours — green, amber, red — are reserved for operational information and are never used as decoration.

A rule inherited from the HMI

No critical information is carried by colour alone — not in the supervision system, and not in communications either. A status is always accompanied by text or a shape. That human factors constraint governs the brand as well.

Usage

What we never do to the logo.

A critical infrastructure brand is recognised first and foremost by its consistency. Graphic liberties cost more than they return.

01Do not recolour the symbol outside the two supplied variants.
02Do not distort, slant or stretch the proportions.
03Do not add a drop shadow, a bevel or an outline.
04Do not place the logo over a busy photograph without a contrast scrim.
05Do not substitute another typeface for the lockup wordmark.
06Do not associate the symbol with an official emblem, or with an operator's logo, without written permission.
